Attitude ” A difference maker in LIFE”

I read an article that stated that approximately ninety percent of people coming into the doctor have actually talked themselves into their illness.  Attitude decisions  do  make a difference in LIFE.  It would be apart of the art side of Orrin Woodward and Chris Bradys book Launching a Leadership Revolution book. Here is a comment from  Fred “a former national champion football player who knows how to win”  about a couple of the books that have come through the leadership company.                                                               ” I had the blues because I had no shoes until upon the street, I met a man who had no feet”  ~Ancient Persian Saying
I just got through reading The No Complaining Rule by Jon Gordon, actually I started reading it at 9am this morning and was so riveted by the story I finished it at 11:30am.  The story conveys to anyone who reads it how having a positive attitude over a negative attitude through the practice of limiting complaining will greatly increase a healthy lifestyle in all of our relationships, family, friends, people we work with, at your church and even with God our father.  It suggests that if we catch our selves complaining to put a twist on the complaint and add “The But – Positive Technique.” to the complaint.  An example for me would be as follows, I don’t like getting up at 2am to be at work at 3am, but I am glad I get done early in the day so I can build the  business my wife and I own. According to the book, we all have a choice between two roads.  The positive road that will lead to better health, happiness, and success and the negative road that will lead to misery, anger and failure.  You can’t take both roads at the same time, so you have to decide which road you want to be on.  The book says that when we complain, we have chosen the negative road.  The good news is we can change anytime to the positive road.  That brings me to another book I have recently read, The 7 Habits of Highly effective People by Stephen Covey.  In Part Two, Habit to Be Proactive, the author talks about taking a more proactive approach to situations in our lives instead of a reactive approach.  The difference is in a proactive approach we have more control of the situation, we can determine the outcome of our situation.  A reactive approach would be to let the situation control the out come and accept the results it has on our life.  We need to be proactive, create the action in our lives that will move us forward to our desired results.  Either we act, or we will be acted upon.  The reason I talk about these two books, is because of the similarities.  The No Complaining Rule talks about writing down your complaints and deciding which ones you can do something about and discarding the ones you can’t.  There is no sense in worrying about something you have no control over.  Then share the complaints you can do something about with someone who can help with a solution and turn it into a positive.  The 7 Habits of Highly effective People has a similar process called your Circle of Concern and your Circle of Influence.  With in our Circle of Concern are things we have no real control over and others we can do something about.  The ones we can take action on, our in our Circle of Influence.  Proactive people concentrate on things in the Circle of Influence, things they can act upon in a positive way.  Reactive people concentrate on things in the Circle of Concern, things they have no control over, which leads to a negative attitude.  We all have the ability to choose, whether it is to complain and not act, or to complain less and try to find solutions to our complaints and turn them into positives.  We can choose to be a Proactive type person who acts upon situations in a positive way and takes responsibility for those actions or be a Reactive type person who takes no responsibility for their actions and blames them on external forces.  I personally choose to be a Proactive type, non-complaining type person, who takes responsibility for my life and my families lives through the continual input of training materials provided by the LIFE Community of people .  I am going to pass this information on to everyone I know in hopes of them finding a better Life,  God Bless.

IN LIFE Freedom Begins With Education

This is a post by a great friend of mine talking about how much Orrin Woodward and his LIFE Leadership Materials have benefitted his Life journey over the last couple of years. Pappa Biggs as we call him,  has become a staunch reader and can relate to all walks of life because of the education he has received from Chris Brady, Tim Marks, and Orrin Woodwards Leadership. god bless cody

IN LIFE FREEDOM BEGINS WITH EDUCATION
I’ve been in the Community Building Industry for 19 years.  My background before
entering the industry was in banking industry for 16 years chiefly as a
lending officer and several other higher functions toward the end of that
career.  So I’ve seen the various viabilities of many businesses, including
the banking industry.  And I might add that I’m not at all surprised that
the banking industry and our nation’s businesses are in their current
situation, because of errant and misguided heads in both the banking
industry and the regulation of the banking industry.  I remember having a
philosophical discussion with a head bank examiner in 1991, that the Feds
(FDIC) and Federal Reserve Bank were taking the country down the wrong path
by grading consumer loans as gold and toileting solid entrepreneurial loans.
It was a path of consumerism vs production.

I must admit that during those years I wasn’t much of a broad range reader.
My focus and my identity was the BANKER.  Leaving that industry at that time
was not easy from  personal and financial perspectives, but it was the best
decision I’ve made in my life!  The impending consolidation of small
independent banks in Kansas would mean the sacrifice of my family for a
risky career.  Much of the impetuous for the consolidation was caused by
increasing regulatory burdens and the arrogance of big city regulators, who
courted the big banks for their next career advancement into a large bank or
up the regulatory political ladder, to the detriment of our country’s
economic engine – small community banks, who knew the character of
entrepreneurs in their community.

The networking industry appealed to me because of the independence
and reward based on merit.  However, I did find in my journey in this
industry, that similar to the banking industry, whoever had the gold wrote
the rules.  So it wasn’t always right that ruled.  Truly, just more of the
same!

It was a breath of fresh air  a few years back when Cody Newton finallyasked to meet with me

aaaannnd   If you know Cody, he gets to the heart of
matter, quickly, that’s an attribute I like.  Anyway, he asked, if I would
be interested in  the TEAM Leadership Material.  My
immediate responds was, “WHEN”?  I was aware of the progress people using
their system had achieved and it was being repeated over and over.  It is a
personally demanding system, but well worth it.  As in all endeavors, no
struggle, no advancement.  I’ve certainly grown by listening, reading and
associating with the humble, vision focused leadership of this support
group.

Tying both the thinking and experiences from my banking and networking
background in light of the future of the environment that my progeny will be
looking at has been coming into focus in the last couple of months.  Two
books have been enlightening to me: “1776” by David McCullough and “Freedom
Shift” by Oliver DeMille.  Especially, chapter 2 in “1776” – ‘Rabble in
Arms’, which gives the background of two American Generals, who were
initially inexperienced militarily, but were personally responsible for
their education.  These generals were Nathanael Greene and John Knox.
“1776” is a great read to understand the indomitable spirit of men, who burn
to be free.  To quote an opening line from General George Washington,
“Perseverance and spirit have done wonders in all ages.”  After reading this
book, you will understand “perseverance” at a level a modern American has no
clue about!

In “Freedom Shift” the last sections of Chapter 1 headed up as ‘The Growing
Popularity of Producer Education” and “Entrepreneurs and Freedom” speaks to
the foundation of freedom begins.  With people “taking charge” of their
education!  In the colonies, key people took charge of their education,
which lead to an understanding of the issues during the reign of King George
over the colonies.  Their reading lead them further toward courage from the
understanding of the spiritual nature of the endowment in us by our creator
toward freedom.  We all have that same call to freedom (witness the current
protest toward Wall Street).  Although, many do not have the direction
toward the pursuit of that freedom, because they don’t take personal
responsibility to improve their education on personal and societal issues
and/or they don’t have the wisdom to pursue mentors, who have produced
success through achievement from their own endeavors.

Orrin Woodward says, “Ideals have consequences!”  That’s so true!  Ideals
can work either way – Good or Evil!  As Chris Brady asks, “Are you going to
be a force for Good or Evil?”  Be careful!  Choose your mentors wisely!
Choose the ones, who strive to follow the attainment of a God inspired
purpose, in God inspired ways!  I believe, I have chosen well by following
Cody, who is following and holding his leaders and himself accountable to a
God given purpose.  Welcome to the journey of LIFE>>>>

Does Life Leadership Help?

In  Orrin Woodward OrrinWoodward-born-leader and Chris Bradys book Launching a Leadership Revolution on page 18 it asks the question, “Why Leadership?” It answers why  throughout the book by showing us how leadership is exactly the opposite of what we think it is. For instance, Leadership is about giving power instead of getting power.  Leadership is about how well you serve instead of how well you get served by others.  SOO When I get asked “Does this Life Leadership Material Really Help”???  My natural response is too answer is to say,  of course it does, in a put off way.   I think it was Albert Einstein that said ” you can’t fix a problem at the same level of thinking you got into the problem with”  But knowing that, as my mentor Tim Marks states ” you should know them by their fruit”  So to really know if it helps we should evaluate the ones that have been actively apart of the program to see if it helps in different categories. The different categories are discussed in the Life book as the 8fs. Faith Family Fitness Finance Freedom Fun Friend Following.  Leadership in all of these categories is what keeps your life in proper order.  Here would be 2 different examples that I have personally seen on the leadership material that I have seen change during the process.

Kris White is 31, graduated from my highschool and his whole life he has been a shy reserved person, who was scared to lead.  Kris since being on the leadership material has dealt with the tough issues in and out of his family life and relational life.  His spiritual leadership is where I have seen him grow the most.  Kris did not want to “rock the boat” until he decided leading his family was a higher calling than following in that realm.  I have personally also seen him take on tough issues with people in and out of his team that he normally would’ve hidden from. Kris is a leader now in many areas that he would not have “stepped up” in if it were not for proper info.   Congratulations Kris

Jessica Miller is 21 and just about ready to graduate from college. Jessica on normal terms would be looking for a job, but because of the leadership material she is preparing for a retirement party.  She has taken the material and used it to prepare for another Life, A life of Entrepreneurship.   She is leading many with techniques and ideas learned thru this team program and this is only the beginning for her.  To be continued for her for sure

god bless
